Ice Dispensers

Two model names appear on the ice dispenser service: i15 Chewable Ice and WL Ice 900. The capacity attached to the service is 125 pounds per day. The site does not split that number between the two models, and it does not publish bin size, electrical draw, or water use. Use 125 pounds a day as the figure Crystal Mountain prints, and ask which model that figure belongs to before you commit.

Installation steps on the service are: plug in the unit, connect it to the water line, install the filtration system, and start dispensing. That is a plumbed appliance, closer to a bottleless cooler than to a 5-gallon bottle. It still needs a water line and an outlet. The site does not say the machine can run on bottles.

Older Hoshizaki and “ice machine” URLs point here. This page does not add Hoshizaki specifications that are not on the service record. If a Hoshizaki unit is what you want, ask the salesperson whether it is still offered. Do not treat a redirected URL as a current spec sheet.

The reasons listed for an on-site dispenser are running out of ice on a busy day, the cost of bagged ice, and handling ice in a way the service calls unsanitary. The benefits listed are ice without a store run, less plastic from bags, a cost the service calls lower than bags, and a machine that looks like it belongs in an office. No bag-price comparison is published, so this page does not compute one.

Chewable ice is in the i15 name. The site does not define cube size for the WL Ice 900. Ask for a sample description if cube versus chewable matters for drinks.

UV sanitized water is listed so the ice is made from water the unit treats. As with the bottleless coolers, no UV dose or lamp schedule is published. Filter and lamp service belong in the install conversation.

Capacity planning starts from the published 125 pounds a day. If the break room uses more than that, say so, because the site does not list a larger model. If the room uses less, the same listing is still the one Crystal Mountain prints.

Ask which number is production and which number is storage for the model on the quote.

Chewable is in the i15 name, so that is the machine to request if the ice is for cups rather than for a cooler chest. The WL Ice 900 is the other named unit. Ask for its ice style in the same call. Walk the room with the install list in mind: an outlet for “plug in,” a water line for “connect,” and space for the filtration step. If any of those is missing, the feature “free delivery and installation” still has to be confirmed against the site you actually have. The service does not say installation is free when the line has to be run from another room. Ask. The models to name are the i15 Chewable Ice and the WL Ice 900. The capacity to cite is 125 pounds a day, and you should ask how much of that is storage versus production.

Chewable ice is requested by asking for the i15. If you need a different ice shape, ask what the WL Ice 900 makes before you accept it. UV sanitized water is the treatment phrase on the service.
